Mae traeth Poppit mewn llecyn gwirioneddol wych wrth geg aber afon Teifi, ac yn edrych draw ar olygfeydd godidog o Ynys Aberteifi. Mae'r ardal yn ardal a warchodir oherwydd ei bywyd gwyllt trawiadol, gan gynnwys dolffiniaid trwynbwl y gellir eu gweld o'r glannau pan fydd y llanw'n caniatáu.
Mae traeth Poppit ar ben gogleddol Llwybr Arfordir Sir Benfro sy'n ymestyn ar hyd 186 o filltiroedd o gwmpas y glannau hyd at Llanrhath (Amroth) yn y de. Mae nifer o gerddwyr yn cychwyn ar eu taith ar lwybr yr arfordir ym Mhoppit.
Yn ystod misoedd yr haf ni chaniateir c ŵn, ond caniateir c ŵn ar ochr y foryd o'r traeth. Ar hyd y traeth hirfelyn mae pobl yn marchogaeth eu ceffylau, yn mynd â'u cychod i'r d ŵr, yn hedfan barcud a hefyd yn syrffio ar adegau penodol o'r flwyddyn.
Mae gwasanaeth bws rheolaidd i Poppit o Aberteifi yn ogystal â gwasanaeth bws yr arfordir Roced Poppit. Man cychwyn llwybr byd-enwog Llwybr Arfordir Sir Benfro yw Poppit; chwiliwch am y plac sy'n nodi agor y llwybr yn 1970.

Take a walk along the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path – 186 miles of spectacular coastal walking, which now comprises part of the All Wales Coastal Path. Poppit actually boasts the start of the trail! So get your walking boots on ... If you’re doing a linear walk why not check out the Poppit Rocket bus shuttle service to take you back to your starting point covering Newport,Cardigan and Fishguard The Poppit Rocket follows the coastline between Fishguard and Cardigan, stopping at Pwllgwaelod, Dinas Cross, Newport, Moylegrove, Poppit Sands, and St Dogmaels.
Poppit Sands is becoming a very popular beach within the adventure sports groups and you will frequently find people having paragliding lessons, land boarding and power kiting at the beach. Find out more about local operators. Power Kiting is a rapidly growing sport. Whether its buggying, land boarding, kite boarding or just power kiting, Poppit Sands Beach is a perfect location. With almost 1/2 a mile of beach to play with it means there is room for everyone. The high tide line due to the beach being at the mouth of the River Teifi means there is lots of hard sand for buggiers and boarders.
When on the beach, go fly, go fly a kite! Whatever age kite flying is great fun for all the family
At the north-western end of the beach there are rock pools which support a myriad of sea-life.
Cardigan Bay is a fantastic place to dolphin spot. Cardigan Bay is home to one of only two resident groups of Bottlenose Dolphins in the UK. Estimates to the number of Dolphins in the Bay vary but a figure of 127 is often quoted. Poppit is also occasionally visited by seals and porpoises in summer.
Cardigan and St Dogmaels' web site gives lots of information about the beach at Poppit, and the cafes and pubs in the nearby area, all serving delicious local fayre. Life’s not complete without a welsh cake when in Wales!
